This time, we decided to give charity to The World Food Programme (WFP). WFP is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. They are part of the United Nations system and is voluntarily funded.

We know that Siwon is a kind and helpful man. So, let's be like Siwon. Let's show to those people, that we, as Siwon and Super Junior's fans, care for others too. Let's show them how Siwon is a great living example for us who has inspired us to show kindness to others.

☆☆☆ FROM KPOP, THROUGH SIWON, TO CHILDREN

A Charity Project to a Free English Course. Do you remember SiwonLover's projects for Siwon's birthday in 2011 and 2012? In 2011, SiwonLover joining hands with SJ-WORLD succesfully raised donation for Japan's relief on Siwon's birthday (read here). In 2012, SiwonLover joining hands with several fan-bases raised donation for medical relief program in Ivory Coast, West Africa (read here). From KPop, we know about Siwon. All Siwonests and ELF know how Siwon has always set a great example on how to share kindness to everyone. With these charity projects, SiwonLover really hopes that many fans can feel the compassion for their community, just like what Siwon has inspired us. :)

This year, to celebrate Siwon’s birthday in such a meaningful way, SiwonLover has decided to do another charity project under Siwon's name and his worldwide fans. The target is a free English course, named "Light English Course".

Q : Why “Light English Course”?

• It was established in 2004 in the middle of poor community with many kids whose parents cannot pay for their school tuition
• The English Course’s vision is to bring hope to the community and re-construct their mindset that they can still be successful, to have jobs, and to have better future so that they will not be afraid to dream and pursue that dream.
• The teachers work without being paid but they try hard to provide the needs for the kids in learning English.
• They use one small room of the founder’s house to learn without proper desks and chairs

It is located in Tanah Tinggi, Central Jakarta, Indonesia.

At the moment, there are around 80 children who are currently studying.

Siwonlover Project - [120906] Vid SiwonLover - Report of Siwon's 2012 Birthday Donation Project Result

Do you remember our project earlier this year? To celebrate Siwon’s birthday on April 7, 2012, we collected money and donate it to Africa. Joining hands with several local and international fanbases (TheSiwonest, FrenchELF_Line, ProudofSiwon, Siwonbiased, SiwonestChile, SiwonestPeru, SiwonPH, welovechoisiwon, welovewonhae, WOnIndonesia, Choisiwon baidu bar, Choisiwon.cn, see-won.com, Sup3rjunior.com, TheSiwonest Japan Assenter Group, Forsujuindo, 3RDWAVEMUSIC), SiwonLover succeeded to collect US$6515 for this project.

The money collected was used to fund the surgical needs of people in West Africa, especially Hernia surgeries. Here is a video footage as well as a report on to where the money was allocated.

Yes, we made them smile and relieved and it was priceless! It's not about the amount, but it's about the influence we can give to them.

CHOI SIWON (SUPER JUNIOR) FANS RAISE US$6500 FOR AFRICA PROJECT

RELEASED MAY 2012

Seoul, South Korea - 3RD WAVE music’s guest artist, Choi Siwon of Korea’s number one boyband, Super Junior, through his fans from all over the world, has helped raise US$6500 for West Africa. Siwon brought awareness to the cause on his birthday, encouraging his fans to directly donate or purchase 3RD WAVE’s “IGNITE: 1040” album on his birthday, with proceeds given to Africa.

3RD WAVE, Christian rock band consisting of KPOP stars Brian Joo (Fly to the Sky), Choi Siwon (Super Junior), Alexander Lee Eusebio (formerly of U-KISS) based in Seoul, helped spearhead the medical relief program that began in 2003, collaborating with Abidjan International Ministry and Food for the Hungry, to aid those in need of severe surgical procedures. However, it was only from 2009 when surgeries in Africa were finally made possible through the project.

Johnny Lee, founder/producer of 3RD WAVE, explains that the goal is to raise over US$10,000 to provide life-saving surgeries to those suffering in the Ivory Coast. With regard to the star’s contribution, he says “what an honor to bless people in need and to make a real difference in people's lives.” Brian Joo, who is the lead vocalist of the 3RD WAVE projects, believes Siwon’s involvement will bring great positivity to those who need it. Brian shares, “I never regret being able to help out others, and this is more than a dream come true that I can help those who really need my help.”

Beginning August of this year, US and African medical professionals plan to perform over 100 surgeries.
